Delaware
Delaware was founded in 1638 by Peter Minuit. Delaware was originally part of the Pennsylvania colony and was governed by them until the Revolutionary War. The colony had very fertile soil so farmers made a lot of money from agriculture in their farms and plantations. Agriculture was the main economy in Delaware. It was known as one of the "Bread Basket" colonies because of all their cash crops. Two thirds of Delaware's coast was water. The soil was one of the best out of all the colonies. The largest river was the Christiana, named after the Queen of Sweden. Delaware had a democratic government which made sure the people had a lot of say and the government was limited. The colony was named after Lord De la Warr who lived there until he died in 1618. Delaware had religious freedom so any religion was welcome. Delaware didn't have an exact set of residnecy requirements but if the colony's people thought you wouldn't be a productive citizen, they wouldn't let you come.
