North Carolina Colony
Founded: 1653 by Virginian colonists
In 1653, some Virginian settlers settled in what is now North Carolina. Ten years later, King Charles II issued a royal charter for eight nobles to settle south of Virginia (North Carolina).

Mountains ran through North Carolina. The soil is fertile and good for farming.
Government:
Until 1729, North Carolina used to be a proprietary colony. During the year of 1729, it became a crown colony when King George purchased all the shares from the lord proprietors.

Religion:
The Church of England established twenty-two stations between the years 1708 and 1783, attempting to create a strong Anglican presence throughout the colony. However, the colonists didn't really like it and most of them were Quakers and Baptists. The Presbyterians, Catholics, and Jews came later.
